My stand:
Democracy at its core, is the process of the PEOPLE, with verified and reliable information, making an informed CHOICE of a wise and ethical REPRESENTATIVE to make decisions about the nation's FUTURE on their behalf.
Regardless of what the politicians make it out to be, remember:
It is not a beauty contest, where you choose based on looks.
It is not an exam, where you choose based on academic status.
It is not a lineup in a jail, where you choose the most shifty looking character.
It is not a shouting match, where the loudest wins.
It is not an auction, where the highest bidder wins.
It is an election. It is about your choice, the ability to decide.
